1) My mom's spaghetti.
Experiences: Small gatherings at other people's homes, Church gatherings, Dinner, and whenever someone in the family begs for her to cook spaghetti or has acheived their goal.
2) Date of Interview: August 30, 2009
Name of Cook: Gina ( my mom)
Stories of the food: 1) There was one gathering we had with our small bible study group. It was the second to the last day of our bible study. Our church has renewed its schedule that there will no longer be any meetings on Tuesdays. Instead, that meeting will be squeezed in with our daily Friday meetings. So my mom wanted to cook something special, preferably something of originality. So, she made the effort to cook it up for the night. When she brought it, everyone thought it was just regular American spaghetti with meatballs, but it wasn't. They said that it was different and delicious. Out of the ordinary. It didn't have any artificials, fats, cheese, or meatballs. It was pure and healthy. The noodles weren't sticky. It wasn't those that you find in Zippy's or any American spaghetti. The noodles were independent. They didn't stick to each other. They had a sort of slime to it that made it easier to slurp up. She also makes the sauce seperately. In it is red hot dog, Filipino ketchup, and Italian sauce. There was one particular church member that loved it much more than everyone else. He took approximately 3 large plate full of spaghetti and when everyone was full, he dived to take home the remainding before any one could. He was also the first to take a bite at it and immediately fell in love with it. :)
2) Another experience was at another church member's house. It was a special event, so there was much more people. There wasn't really anyone picking at it during the first time around. But, I guess when someone tried the odd-looking spaghetti, they said that it was delicious and encouraged others to try it. By the end of the party, it was a total wipe out. There was not a single noodle left. I guessed they loved it.
3) This last one happened in the family - just the 4 of us. It was a beautiful night and I got a 100% on my Algebra Test. A first in many years for me. My mom wanted to cook me something special, something that I would enjoy and would commemorate my success. So, she cooked up her original spaghetti once again. I had a great time watching her cook and how she didn't use any measuring devices. She told me that, "Good cooks don't use measuring devices." So, after everyone gathered at the table and prayed together, all four hands dived to take the serving spork. I was the first to grab hold of it. I took my plate full and so did my dad, mom, and my cousin. My cousin always tries to be generous, so she lets everyone go first. Anyway, we waited until everyone got theirs, then we dug in. We all said "mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" at the same time. Then, we ate faster and faster and faster until everything was gone. It was a mouthwatering dinner and I slept well on that night, especially with a full meal and good nights rest. :)

FACT #4: My mom's spaghetti is the best. If someone tries to copy it, it will never be as close to my mom's cooking. Even if I tried, I wouldn't be able to match it up. Out of all the different spaghettis I have tasted it, my mom's is the BEST!! It is healthy and pure. :)
